False bookings and the note kept afterwards

Four things make a booking false. The name on it is not the name of the person who sent it. It came from a number or a profile belonging to somebody else. It was sent as a prank. Or a no-show followed any one of those three. That list is the whole definition and nothing is read into it beyond what it says.

A missed afternoon is not on the list

This matters more than it sounds, because guests worry about the wrong thing. Someone who booked honestly, gave their own name, and then slept through the knock or was stuck in a meeting has not made a false booking. They have made a late cancellation, and it is handled on the notice scale like every other one: the deposit position depends on when the message came, and there is nothing further attached to it.

The note, and how long it lasts

Where a booking does answer one of the four conditions, or where a visit closes because a limit the therapist had already named was leaned on, the house writes a short note for its own use. It holds three things: the date, an account of what happened, and the name and number the booking arrived under. It is kept for twelve months and then it goes. Nobody outside the house reads it, and it is consulted for one purpose only, which is whether another booking under that name is taken.

Objecting to a note

A note can be challenged, corrected or removed, and how to go about it is written out on the privacy page. Where what happened has the shape of a criminal offence, the house may take the matter to the police. A guest who books in their own name and opens the door when she knocks has nothing here to think about at all.
