The weekend has a different shape from a working trip

A business traveller has an empty afternoon and a committed evening. A weekend visitor usually has both parts committed and has to make the gap himself. That means starting an hour at five or ninety minutes at half past four. If the afternoon is genuinely free from two, take the longer booking and put it early, because a long session that finishes twenty minutes before you have to be downstairs is the version people regret.

Rooms at the weekend, and the noise around them

A Saturday hotel is fuller than a Tuesday one and the floor is not empty. That sounds like a problem and mostly is not: a building with people moving through it constantly is a building where nothing stands out. What does change is sound. The rooms either side of you are more likely to be occupied at five on a Saturday than at two on a Wednesday, so if the walls are thin it is worth saying so when she arrives, and worth choosing a format that sits quietly. The centre is crowded through the middle of a weekend afternoon, the bridges are slow, and a tram that takes twelve minutes on a Tuesday takes twenty. Peak weekends, and what changes on them

Some Saturdays are not ordinary Saturdays. On those dates a deposit of half the figure is asked for whatever else is true about the booking, and the notice you give matters more than usual because there is no slack anywhere in the day. The figures, and the half that goes ahead

With one therapist an hour is 180 euros, ninety minutes 270, two hours 360, three hours 540, and eight hours 1,250. Two therapists working one guest comes to 360 an hour. A couple sharing one therapist pays 360 an hour, and a therapist each is 720. A Saturday carries no weekend surcharge, because only one tariff was ever written. Half the figure confirms a booking made more than twenty-four hours ahead, a block, two therapists, a room at Schiphol or an airport hotel, a peak date, three hours or longer, and a first booking with the house.

If the group's plans move

They will. Someone wants to eat at seven instead of eight, or the afternoon runs an hour past where it was supposed to end. Write the moment you know, rather than when the new time arrives. One change of date is free where the request reaches the thread more than twenty-four hours before the booked time and the new date falls within fourteen days. Inside the final day, a move is read on the notice scale exactly as a cancellation would be at that moment: half of the deposit is kept while she has not yet left, all of it once she is on her way, and nothing at all is kept if the hour is taken by somebody else.
